I’ve been in Ottawa for over a decade now. I spent my first few years here as a full-time student at the University of Ottawa. Then I got doing public engagement work for various non-profits — meaning I did policy research, communications, acted as a media spokesperson, met with politicians and civil servants, wrote blogs and press releases, formatted e-newsletters, gave talks and workshops and that sort of thing. For the past few years, I’ve been consulting in the field of communications, research and public engagement, and consuming news (and news about news and how it’s changing) like a fiend. I’ve also taken up freelancing, writing the odd article here and there.

My LinkedIn profile here isn’t exhaustive but it does provide some more detail on my professional background, if you’re curious.

I welcome feedback, comments and respectful debate (a wise person once told me “speak of the issue, not the person”). Feel free to drop me a line, leave a comment or tweet at me.
